Privacy Policy
What RankPrep collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information.
Effective October 18, 2026
1.Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how RankPrep (“RankPrep,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit rankprep.net (the “Site”), submit a form, or use the RankPrep study workspace once it opens (together, the “Service”).
The Service is intended for adults in the United States who are preparing for public safety examinations. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
2.Information You Provide
You can read the Site without creating an account. We collect information when you choose to send it:
- Early access requests: email address, the examination you are preparing for, the plan you are interested in, and whether you want product updates.
- Exam requests: examination name, agency or department, state, examination type, and email address. Rank, expected exam date, notes, and study-material notes are optional.
- Contact messages: name, email address, topic, subject, and the message you write.
- Accounts (when available): name, email address, login credentials, the examination you select, and your plan.
- Study activity (when available): answers, results by category, optional confidence ratings, practice history, and question challenges you submit.
Please do not send passwords, payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, health information, or content from an official examination through any form.
3.Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider receives standard technical information when you load a page, such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the time of the request. This is used to deliver pages, prevent abuse, and diagnose errors.
The Site does not currently use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or a third-party analytics service. If we add privacy-respecting analytics later, we will update this policy before it is turned on. Accounts, when available, will use essential cookies to keep you signed in.
4.How We Use Information
- To respond to your request or message and to contact you about the examination you asked about.
- To decide which examinations to support next, based on the volume of requests.
- To notify early access members when preparation opens and before any billing begins.
- To provide the study workspace, including your diagnostic, study plan, practice, and progress.
- To send product updates, only if you opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
6.Payments
No payment is collected during early access. When billing begins, payments will be handled by a third-party payment processor. RankPrep will not store your full payment card number.
7.Retention
We keep form submissions for as long as they are needed to respond to you and to plan which examinations to support, and account and study data for as long as your account is active. After that, we delete or de-identify information unless we must keep it to meet legal, tax, or security obligations.
8.Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, and access to submitted information is limited to people who need it to operate the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9.Your Choices and Rights
- You can unsubscribe from product updates using the link in any update email.
- You can ask to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
- You can ask us to stop contacting you about an exam request or early access.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law. We will respond to verified requests within the time the law requires, and we will not discriminate against you for making one.
10.Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy as the Service changes, including before accounts and payments open. The effective date above shows when it was last revised. If a change is material, we will notify early access members and account holders by email.
11.Contact
Send privacy questions and requests through the contact form and choose General question.
